In San Francisco, I am able to find these vegan imitation shrimp at various Asian markets and Rainbow Grocery. I love them. Seriously, just love them. They are great thawed out and plain with the cocktail sauce, or cooked up in a special dish. When I cook them, I like to pan fry them in a little Earth Balance, with salt and pepper. It softens them up and gives them a great flavor. Then I add them to whatever dish it is I'm making!
